Addressing local energy poverty through the creation of energy renovation offices.

Summary:

The LIFE ReHABITA project aims to alleviate energy poverty by promoting deep energy renovations of energy inefficient homes of vulnerable families. The project will take place in the municipalities of Lorca (ES), Ploiești (RO), Plovdiv (BU), Saldus (LV) and Gospić (HR). Despite all the advantages that a deep renovation would have on the quality of life of a vulnerable family, citizens continue to perceive the need for renovation as a problem rather than an opportunity. To overcome this barrier, the project will set up ReHABITA Offices (one-stop shops) to deliver an integrated home renovation services in some of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the participating municipalities. At these offices, municipal technical staff will guide people through the entire process until their homes are energy efficient.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Life funding instrument for environment and climate action under grant agreement no 101120713.
