Tide energy is the energy that can be captured by exploiting the potential energy from the vertical displacement of the mass of water at different levels or the kinetic energy due to tidal currents. Tide forces result from gravity of the Sun and Moon, and also as a result of terrestrial rotation.
It is a form of renewable energy.
